How to Coach Yourself Through Anything
Updated: 6 days ago

“Before you can coach others first you must learn to coach yourself.”
-Johan Cruijff.
As a leader, you are responsible for your results and accountable for team, organizational, and market performance.
Feeling stuck and in need of a way forward?
Here's a simple 6-step process you can always use to coach yourself through anything:
1. Point Out Your Problem
Ask yourself:
What is the problem?
Where am I stuck?
2. Pin Your Destination
Ask yourself:
What is the ideal state I would like to be in?
Working backward from there, what are the 3-5 steps I/we need to take to get there?
3. Push Boundaries
Ask yourself:
What in my current context could get in the way?
How and or where could I get help to address that?
3. Plan Your Action
Ask yourself:
What is the first and most pressing action I need to take that would bring me/us the most impact?
4. Pull Resources
Ask yourself:
What support do I need to sustain the change effort?
How will I get them?
5. Periodic Review
Ask yourself:
How effective are my efforts?
What can I adjust to experience optimal results?
6. Push for Success
Ask yourself:
On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being the least likely, 10 being the most likely) how likely am I to implement this plan?
If low, how could I increase the likelihood?
