Modesta has dedicated her 18-year career to equipping leaders and corporations to thrive in the competitive global economy.

A Senior Management and Board Executive, and Global Award-Winning Leadership Strategist, Coach, Consultant, Author, and Keynote Speaker, Modesta Mahiga has supported thousands of leaders, across 6 continents, to drive personal and organizational effectiveness, growth, and impact.

  

Modesta's clients have included global giants such as PwC, JTI, Coca Cola, Lafarge, Barrick Gold, United Bank of Africa, Airtel, Tigo, in the private sector, World Bank, International Finance Corporation, African Union, UNDP, UNICEF, UN Women, ILO, IOM, as multilateral organizations and, GiZ, DFID, DANIDA, U.S. Embassy, and Swiss Embassy in public-private partnerships.​

 

She has also reached millions globally through high-level multimedia moderation, and speaking engagements on respected platforms such as the World Bank/IMF, United Nations, African Union, U.S. State Department, and TEDx, and has authored 10 career, business, and leadership books.

  

Modesta is an honoree of global leadership fellowships including the African Leadership Institute, Vital Voices/U.S. State Department/Fortune Most Powerful Women Global Mentoring Program, Women in Management Africa, President Obama’s Young African Leadership Initiative, and Top 100 Speakers in Tanzania.​

  

Modesta holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Durham in England, and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at George Mason University in the U.S. She is also an Advocate of The High Court of Tanzania, Certified Executive Coach, Leadership Development Expert, Business Trainer, Human Resources, Change, and Project Management Professional.​

 

She also serves as a Joseph Business School Trainer, and Board Director of The Joule Foundation, a U.S. non-profit focused on equipping African girls for STEAM-related vocations.​

 

Modesta is married to Mhando Philemon Mbughuni, and there are parents to two dynamic world changers.
